The Equi-Angels team consists of a mental health professional, an EAGALA certified Equine Specialist, and the HORSES, the most important component to the treatment team!
Ruth Squires is an EAP certified Equine Specialist, certified horseback riding instructor, and has been working with horses for the past 20 years.
Horses used in our programs range from grade to registered Thoroughbreds, Quarterhorses, Tennessee Walkers, Arabians, Miniatures, Ponies, etc. Their talents vary from seasoned lesson horses to less experienced trail, pasture, rescue horses, and such. We use a wide variety of temperaments, personalities, and various levels of training.
Equi-Angels offers a facility in Citrus County, FL as well as a mobile program. We also partner with various organizations to offer programs for a wide variety of needs.
We are EAGALA trained and certified. EAGALA is the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association. For additional info please visit www.EAGALA.org.
We are not a therapeutic riding program; our activities are on the ground and do not require knowledge of horses. A typical session consists of experiential, hands on activities and processing.
